Solar System Podcast
I watched a podcast that gave some important and interesting facts about the solar system. It was not too overwhelming because the information was given in small parts. The solar system is huge, and there is a lot of information about it so it can be easy for a student to have cognitive overload when learning about it. In fact, science subjects in general can be overwhelming to learn about. In addition, although there was some music at the beginning of the podcast, there was no music during the fact presentation. Also, the pictures corresponding with the facts were shown seperately so that students can take in facts and illustration at the same time.

TPCK
One of the main points of the TPCK article was the difficulty that integrating technology into the classroom can present for a teacher. Right at the beginning of the article, the authors make the point that the teaching and learning process that takes place in the classroom is already a complex web of knowledge between the students and teacher that presents day to day challenges. However, with technology becoming an increasing part of a child's everyday life, it is only natural that it should be introduced to them as part of their learning experience. Thus, the TPCK article is more about making technology something that works and cooperates with the existing components of learning and actually strengthens the ability of the student to absorb knowledge, and of the teacher to impart it. Without the proper understanding of how to do this, it could serve as an inhibitor rather than a promoter of learning.
The concept of teaching students how to use their knowledge of technology to build on the knowledge they already have in other subjects makes perfect sense. Children are eager to learn about concepts that interest them, and it is hard to ignore the fact that they likely have had some sort of interaction with technology before they even enter the classroom. Using the concept of Technological Pedagogical Knowledge, we can teach children more about technology and clarify their existing knowledge. Then we can go on to incorporate Technological Content Knowledge, now using technology to enhance their learning abilities in other areas. All together, this would be Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge, or TPCK.
